From this site you will be able to explore these ancient peoples and the wonders that still remain today. Take a photographic tour through the park: test your knowledge by completing a crossword puzzle; or simply read and enjoy this culture of the past.
Each main section of the project deals with a particular aspect of Anasazi history and lifestyle; with particular analysis of their architectural developments and their rock art as a form of art and visual communication system. Throughout the sections, most images will be linked to larger images, where the location will be identified. Also, you will see links in CAPITAL letters. These should be ignored unless you are completing the crossword puzzle and are using the aid of the linked clues.
As part of the site, various computer generated depictions of Anasazi Rock Art as used. These were personally designed by myself, based on a number of published sources. I certainly intend no insult to the descendants of the Anasazi, and hope that this causes none.
Finally, I hope that you enjoy this journey and are inspired and awed by the wonders presented, just as I was upon viewing these sacred sites. I would like to dedicate this work to two very important women in my life. To Tegan with whom I shared the unforgettable experience of the Mesa Verde and surrounding areas; and to Amanda - of whom I thought constantly - knowing she too would cry and become absorbed into the beautiful landscape.
