From this image you can see the mesa top, and the size of alcove in which the structure has been built.

In this photograph, we can see the living quarters of the Anasazi. Note the storage areas in the top right hand corner of the photograph. Also note the size of the doorways, which were purposely kept to a minimum so as to keep out the cold in the winter. These doorways were covered over with a think slab to keep in the warmth.

From this photograph, we are able to understand the organisation of the structure, as the kiva roofs ( mostly missing in this photo ) become courtyard areas for the level above.
