A small demonstration of the Panorado Applet

The Panorado Applet allows one or more images to be zoomed in and out, as in the pair below, from the new arrangement of the Marcus Aurelius in the Musei Capitolini, Rome.

If your mouse has a wheel, this will do the zooming. If not, use the PLUS or MINUS keys on your keypad (or shift-left-click zooms in, while ctrl-left-click zooms out). The coding allows the initial size of the image in its window to be specified, as well as the maximum size (here 100%) and the minimum size (here 20%). In both cases the images have been downsized from 10.2mp images to 60% of that - about 440Kb each - so that both images will load easily. If you wish to try your luck with one large (2.12Mb) 10.2mp image, click here.

This applet works with Java 1.4 and later. You can get the software or updates free of charge from Sun.
